Data Protection

This page explains what personal data abplastech.com touches, why, and what you can do about it. The short version: very little, and nothing is sold, shared for advertising or used to build a profile of you.

Who is responsible

AB PlasTech is responsible for the processing described here. Questions about this page or about your data can be sent to hello@abplastech.com.

What the site does not do

  • There are no reader accounts, logins or comment systems, so we hold no profile about you.
  • We show no advertising and run no advertising networks.
  • We use no analytics software, tracking pixels, fingerprinting scripts or social media widgets.
  • Typefaces and pictures are delivered from our own domain, so opening a page does not send your address to a font library or image service.

Embedded maps and videos

There are two exceptions to the rule above. A few articles that name a local business, such as our guide to planning office cleaning for a Vienna workplace, include an embedded Google Maps window, and a few others include a YouTube video. When one of these loads, your browser connects to Google or YouTube directly. They receive technical details such as your IP address and may store or read cookies of their own, under their own privacy terms rather than ours. We receive nothing from these embeds. Where a video is served from YouTube's privacy-enhanced domain, YouTube says it does not store viewing information until you press play.

Server logs at our hosting provider

When your browser requests a page, the company that hosts the site automatically records basic technical details such as your IP address, the time of the request, the address requested and the browser identifier. These records exist to keep the service running and to detect abuse or attacks. They are held for a short period by the hosting provider and are not combined with other information or used to identify visitors.

Your cookie banner choice

The banner asks whether you accept or decline. Whatever you pick is written to your browser's local storage on your own device so the banner does not reappear on every page. It is never transmitted to us. More detail is on Cookies and Your Browser.

When you email us

If you write to us, directly or through the form on the contact page, which simply opens your own email program, we receive your address and whatever you chose to include. We use that only to read and answer your message. Correspondence is normally deleted within two years, unless an open matter means we need to keep it a little longer.

Legal basis

Under the UK GDPR and the EU General Data Protection Regulation, we rely on legitimate interests: keeping the website secure and functioning, and replying to people who contact us. We have weighed those interests against your privacy and consider the impact minimal, because so little data is involved.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may ask us:

  • to confirm whether we hold data about you and to give you a copy;
  • to correct anything inaccurate;
  • to erase your messages;
  • to restrict or object to how we use your data.

Write to the address above and we will respond within the time the law allows. If you are unhappy with our answer, you can complain to the data-protection authority in your country, such as the Information Commissioner's Office in the United Kingdom or the supervisory authority of your EU member state.
